Before it all Began
During the summer we all went to the Shelburne Museum in Shelburne, Vermont. While we were there the boys made dolls the same way children would have made them in the late 1700s using scraps of fabric. Of course a slight allowance was made to allow them to use markers to put on the faces. Her is Ben proudly showing off his creation.
A different Ben than ours had a wish to make a computer game that would help other people fighting cancer pass time and visualize the battle going on against the disease. The Make-A-Wish Foundation was able to grant his wish. The game is called Ben's Game and our boys love that it was made by another Ben. Benjamin and James have played and enjoyed this game and we thought we would share it with you. It can be found on the Make-A-Wish Foundations web site at the following link: http://www.makewish.org/ben
Ben has given me some images of Green Drakkoman to upload to the site. I should be able to get them here soon.
Ben received a Greedo action figure from one of his visitors. Greedo is a character from Star Wars. Ben was using the tubes that were delivering the drugs to him to give Greedo something to climb up and down as he played with him. It was really amazing and a little surreal to see a child playing with the medical equipment in his hospital room the exact same way he would use his environment to play at home. We were just happy to see him playing at that point.
